[Tradjazz] Cornet V/S Trumpet

I think it might have been Bix who said the difference was you could fit 
more dirty laundry in a trumper case. He did get a little more specific when 
he said he personally felt he could hear himself better on a cornet and to 
him, when he played the trumpet it had a "pipsqueak" tone.
          Bill Davidson said he liked a cornet better because he could bend 
the notes more easily.
           I play the trumpet because I feel I can do whatever is required 
on a trumpet but not on a cornet. For example, a trumpet is fine for dixie 
and big band. A cornet is fine for dixie but not for a big band, unless of 
course, the entire section is playing cornets. I never have played with a 
British Brass Band, unless you consider the Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band 
in that category, and I did play a cornet for that.                    Bill
