I'm very interested in the history and development of jazz. The sources that I read
seem to lead toward the following three recordings--prior to 1940---as having the
greatest IMPACT to influence the musicans that heard them. Namely---
1-"West End Blues" -- Louis Armstrong
2-"Singin' the Blues"--Trumbauer & Beiderbecke
3-"Body and Soul"--Coleman Hawkins
Anyone care to add to this list? Remember--IMPACT on MUSICIANS is the
point of this---not favorite recordings. And maybe a comment as to how it made
an impact.
