I'll be playing a solo set this Friday night from 8-9pm at Vox Pop,
a restaurant/progressive book store/performance space in 
Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.  Come on by for dinner or drinks and hear
some fine singing!

FRIDAY, MARCH 30th

7pm/John Houx
His influences include William Blake.  His voice is leathery and captivating 
and his songs cover the traditional folk cannon.  

8pm / Bliss Blood
BLISS BLOOD is a veteran musician and songwriter who moved to New York from 
Houston in 1996.  She recorded six albums from 1988-1995 with Houston 
industrial rock band PAIN TEENS, and has appeared on recordings with such 
groups as The Melvins, Exit-13,and Angels of Light as a lyricist, musician, 
and vocalist.  She currently leads four other New York bands, Voodoo Suite, 
Cantonement Jazz Band, Here's How, and Delta Dreambox, as well as playing and writing 
songs with the Moonlighters.  She is  also forming a new band with Stu Spasm 
(of the Australian group Lubricated Goat) which will play crime 
jazz-influenced original tunes.

9-9:30pm / Film Screening
The Violets, a local pop rock group, are screening their half-hour Public 
Access TV show called "THE VIOLET HOUR" featuring music videos, monkey 
puppets, and lots of comic moments.

10-12pm / Julie Milgram jazz trio
Julie has a lovely jazz voice akin to Joni Mitchell.  She is accompanied by 
talented friends from the Underground Brooklyn Jazz scene.

Subway: Q or F trains
Take the Q train to Cortelyou, take a left out of the station, walk four blocks, we're at the corner of Stratford and Cortelyou. 
OR take the F train to Ditmas (@MacDonald Ave.), walk one block north to Cortelyou and take a right. Heading east on Cortelyou, walk nine blocks to Coney Island Ave. Cross the avenue (it's a staggered intersection) take a quick left then quick right. Vox Pop will be on your right at the corner of Stratford.  
The Q line is less of a walk.
